The George Floyd riots of 2020 did not happen spontaneously, according to a new book by Breitbart journalist Peter Schweizer. In Blood Money: Why the Powerful Turn a Blind Eye While China Kills Americans, Schweizer describes how the destruction during that time was orchestrated by secretive Chinese organizations, notably including the Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO) and the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL).
FRSO’s subversive activity appears to have begun during the protests following the police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. A key organizer of the Ferguson rioting was a man named Montague Simmons, who admitted to importing 10K protesters from out of state.
Simmons was a member of Liberation Road, a group connected to FRSO.
The Ferguson riots were viewed by FRSO as a fuse that could be lit to spark more violence nationwide. In an atmosphere already tense with COVID lockdowns, the rioting following the police-involved death of George Floyd was an inflection point. It is largely seen as the single event that led to the “defund the police” movement, the toppling of statues of America’s founding fathers, a tsunami of “diversity” initiatives, minority-driven segregation measures in schools and many actions designed to erase American culture and history.
After violence broke out in Minnesota in 2020, the wife of FRSO’s political secretary took full credit for the mayhem, stating that the infamous burning of the police station and the Target store were “absolutely tied to, connected to, and part of the movement,” per Schweizer’s book.
FRSO was also connected with protests in Jacksonville, Florida and Kenosha, Wisconsin.
At its 2022 National Congress, FRSO removed all doubt about its loyalties in a very clearly worded message cited in Blood Money:
“Freedom Road Socialist Organization congratulates the leadership of the Communist Party of China, with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core… Long live the Communist Party of China! Long live the unity between the people of China and the people of the U.S.!”
Leftist Max Elbaum in his book Revolution in the Air concurs that FRSO does indeed take direction from Beijing.
A second major Beijing-connected organization that has been sowing the seeds of chaos in America is the PSL. They have organized protests in dozens of U.S. cities including Denver, Philadelphia, Boston and even Westville, Indiana — a tiny town of 5,000 residents.
PSL’s national director Brian Becker has been interviewed multiple times in a favorable light by Chinese state media outlet Global Times.
The number of single Chinese men of military age entering the United States is drawing alarm from many. In 2023, 24,000 Chinese illegally crossed the southern border. Many are beginning to ask why they are here — and how many of them may be covert operatives supporting the work of groups like FRSO and PSL.
