The Democratic National Committee (DNC) recently panicked at independent presidential contender Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s decision to choose entrepreneur Nicole Shanahan as his running mate. Instead of choosing a moderate or conservative to establish a centrist ticket, Kennedy chose a radical leftist.

Given Kennedy’s choice, it’s likely many conservatives who flirted with the possibility of supporting the independent presidential contender in November 2024 will no longer vote for him.
Shanahan’s place on the ticket will appear more to Democrat voters, sparking trouble for President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign. The DNC expressed as such, having hosted a campaign conference call with mainstream media members, where the organization made clear that Democrats were panicking about Kennedy’s presidential bid.
Fox News reported that the DNC’s call with the press occurred shortly after Kennedy announced Shanahan as his running mate.
“The call with members of the press took place immediately after Kennedy announced tech entrepreneur Nicole Shanahan as his vice presidential running mate at a rally in Oakland, California, and included Rep. Robert Garcia, D-Calif., Pennsylvania Lieutenant Gov. Austin Davis, and Michigan state Sen. Mallory McMorrow,” who worried about Kennedy’s bid.
“We are doing everything in our power to get President Biden and Vice President Harris reelected. It’s critical that we take seriously every possible obstacle to that goal. And let me be clear, that’s exactly what Robert F. Kennedy is in this election. He’s a spoiler,” Austin said.
“Him being in the race means that there is a greater likelihood that Donald Trump will become president again,” McMorrow said.
During the call with members of the press, Garcia issued a scathing rebuke of Kennedy, calling him a “tin foil hat conspiracy theorist” over the independent presidential contender’s skepticism of COVID-19 vaccines. The California congressman also took aim against Shanahan, accusing the entrepreneur of holding an “anti-health agenda.”
Garcia claimed that Kennedy was focused on helping former President Donald Trump win the 2024 presidential election.
“He’s turning to Trump mega-donors to really support this, really, spoiler campaign,” Garcia said. “I think he’s really interested in trying to get Donald Trump elected. Maybe that’s what this is about.”
