Deception Or Dementia? Biden’s 9/11 Comments Spark Another Controversy

President Joe Biden has had his fair share of controversy, and his recent statement on the 22nd anniversary of the 9/11 attacks was no exception. On that solemn day, he stood in Alaska, far removed from the tragic events in New York City, and claimed to have been at the World Trade Center site on September 12.

Biden said he was there “looking through the gates of hell” the day after nearly three thousand lives were lost. However, a substantial body of evidence contradicts his claim. Many suggest that Biden was in Washington, D.C. on that day.

The discrepancy between Biden’s claim and the available evidence that says otherwise raises questions about his honesty, integrity, and reliability. Is his memory clouded by his old age making it difficult for him to distinguish between fact and fiction? A poll revealed most people think his age is an issue.

Is Biden lying on purpose? The latter possibility has a lot of potential given Biden’s history of falsehoods, dating all the way back to 1968 when he admitted to plagiarizing a law school paper.

However, Biden’s choice of words was telling. He referred to the perpetrators of 9/11 as “evil” but conveniently avoided any mention of their terrorist motives. This evasion reflects his administration’s stance that there is no connection between the attackers’ ideology and their heinous acts.

Naming the motivating ideology of the 9/11 “terrorists” would risk accusations of “Islamophobia,” a claim Biden’s administration seeks to avoid at all costs. Biden said, “Ground Zero New York… I remember standing there the next day and looking at the building. I felt like I was looking through the gates of hell.”

This statement contradicts the fact that Biden was not at Ground Zero on September 12, 2001. He was in Washington, D.C. When confronted with this issue the White House presented evidence that Biden had been part of a Senate delegation that visited Ground Zero on September 20, 2001.

This does not address Biden’s claim of being present on the day immediately following the attacks. While some may dismiss this as an honest mistake these concerns should not necessarily be brushed aside or ignored. Joe Biden’s credibility as President is at stake with far-reaching and serious implications.
