Chicago Mayor Claims Abbott’s Migrant-Busing Operation Attacks Black Leaders

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson (D) recently appeared on MSNBC, where he claimed that Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) is “attacking” major cities across America run by Black officials by sending them illegal immigrants.

To demonstrate just how out of control the southern border crisis is, given the Biden administration’s refusal to enact border security measures, Abbott and several other Republicans have sent unlawful migrants in buses to Democrat-run cities.

Considering the vast number of illegal immigrants that have been bussed to cities such as New York City and Chicago, officials in such cities are no longer turning a blind eye to the dire issue at the southern border caused by President Joe Biden.

MSNBC host Al Sharpton discussed the crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border with Johnson.

Sharpton pointed out that as the situation at the southern border continues, it “puts a tremendous burden on [Johnson] and other Democratic mayors, I might add, many Black mayors have been the focal point of this. In fact, on Thursday, New York City Mayor Eric Adams filed a $700 million lawsuit against 17 charter bus companies who transported migrants from Texas.”

“What are your thoughts about the case, and is this an action you would consider taking as well?” Sharpton asked Johnson.

“You’re absolutely right about the intentions of Gov. Abbott,” the Chicago mayor replied. “He is attacking democratically-run cities, and particularly cities that are being led by Black leaders or leaders of color. This is unconscionable. I mean, it’s a very raggedy approach. And quite frankly, not only is it reckless and raggedy, but it is evil-spirited.”

On X, formerly known as Twitter, Johnson was heavily criticized over his comments.

Fox News commentator Leo Terrell issued a scathing rebuke of Johnson, claiming that Black mayors in Democrat-run cities don’t do their jobs well.

“Please include me as one of the attackers. Undisputed fact: Black Mayors in Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York are horrible,” Terrell wrote.

Under Biden’s watch, millions of illegal immigrants have poured right across the southern border, jeopardizing the lives of Americans. Despite this, the president recently watered down the vetting process for unlawful migrants from China.
