Stephen Miller Says Trump Indictments Are ‘An Open Vendetta’

Stephen Miller, the former senior advisor to then-President Donald Trump, recently shared his thoughts on the indictment of the former president in Georgia, comparing the Democratic prosecutors to despots who imprison their political opponents.

Miller appeared on Fox News for an interview with News anchor Laura Ingraham, where he said that the Democratic Party’s main goal is to “pull up Trumpist populism by root and branch from this country.” Miller added that Democrats don’t just want to go after Trump, they want to go after his allies and supporters.

“Inflict as much pain as possible, that’s their objective. It’s openly political. It’s an open vendetta. And ultimately, the American people are gonna have to decide whether or not that is a system, that is an authoritarian ideology they want to support,” Miller told Ingraham.

Trump was recently indicted for a fourth time concerning his alleged efforts to “overturn” the 2020 presidential election, as reported by the Daily Caller.

Specifically, the indictment in Georgia focuses on the then-President’s phone call to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, where Trump told the secretary of state that he’d like to “find” the votes necessary to win the election. The former president did not ask Raffensperger to overturn the election.

Ingraham observed that imprisoning an administration’s political opponent is a strategy used by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) as well as Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin.

“At least foreign despotic regimes pretend that people they’re jailing are guilty of spying — that they’re agents of a foreign country. Now, here in America, we are just imprisoning people for speech we don’t like,” Miller said.

“We are imprisoning people for asking them to lobby a state legislature or to watch a particular TV program. That’s where we have gotten to in this country. We are going to throw conservative lawyers in jail if we disagree with their faithfully argued legal theories,” he added.

“As I said, this is a truly authoritarian ideology that we are seeing from the left in America today, from the Democratic Party in America today. And I believe that they are laying out the template to criminalize speech and political dissent amongst everyday Americans,” he continued.
