Wrongfully Convicted Man Claims Kamala Harris Mocked Him After Guilty Verdict

A California man wrongfully convicted of murder says Vice President Kamala Harris mocked him with laughter during his trial when she secured his conviction. Jamal Trulove, who spent six years in prison before his conviction was overturned, shared his harrowing experience of seeing Harris laugh as the guilty verdict was read out in court.

In an interview, Trulove described the moment as chilling. “She literally just, like, kind of busted out laughing. Almost as if she was pointing like, ‘ha-ha,’” Trulove recounted. He emphasized that while Harris didn’t physically point at him, her laughter felt like a cruel taunt during a moment that could have condemned him to a lifetime behind bars.

Trulove’s conviction was based on fabricated evidence and coerced testimony, leading to his eventual exoneration in 2015. He filed a lawsuit against San Francisco, resulting in a $13.1 million settlement. Despite the clear evidence of misconduct in his case, Harris has been accused of attempting to uphold wrongful convictions during her time as a prosecutor, even when evidence of tampering and false testimony emerged.

Critics, including legal scholar Lara Bazelon, have highlighted Harris’ troubling record, accusing her of fighting to maintain convictions tainted by prosecutorial misconduct. Trulove’s story has resurfaced as he continues to speak out against Harris, stating that his experience is a key reason why he’s backing President Donald Trump in the 2024 election.
