15,000 DEAD – Did Cuomo LIE Under OATH?

Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who once paraded around as America’s pandemic hero, now faces a Department of Justice investigation for lying under oath about his role in covering up thousands of elderly COVID deaths that happened on his watch.

Cuomo’s Deadly Decisions Coming Back to Haunt Him

Remember when the mainstream media couldn’t get enough of Andrew Cuomo’s daily COVID briefings? When he was winning Emmy awards while thousands of New York seniors were dying in nursing homes because of his disastrous policies? Well, the chickens are finally coming home to roost. The Department of Justice has opened an investigation into whether Cuomo committed perjury when he testified to Congress about his role in crafting a report that drastically undercounted nursing home deaths during the pandemic. This is what accountability looks like, folks – better three years late than never.

Let’s remember what actually happened here: in March 2020, Cuomo issued an order forcing nursing homes to accept COVID-positive patients, despite the fact that the elderly were the most vulnerable population. This wasn’t following “the science” – it was a death sentence. And when the bodies started piling up, instead of taking responsibility, Cuomo’s administration allegedly cooked the books, undercounting nursing home deaths by as much as 83% according to New York Attorney General Letitia James. All while he was selling books about his “leadership” during the crisis.

The Coverup Worse Than the Crime

The investigation centers on Cuomo’s sworn testimony to Congress, where he claimed he had no role in drafting the July 2020 report that minimized nursing home deaths. But House investigators say they have evidence proving otherwise. Documents and testimony apparently show Cuomo was deeply involved in creating and editing this report – the very definition of a coverup. Remember when Democrats used to care about things like lying under oath? Apparently, that only applies to Republicans.

“Thank God our fight has not been in vain,” said Voice for Seniors co-founder Vivian Zayas, whose mother died in a nursing home during the pandemic.

Even more damning, former New York State Department of Health officials have testified that the report was not independently authored or peer-reviewed as Cuomo claimed. This wasn’t just a statistical error – it was a deliberate attempt to hide the devastating consequences of his policies. The evidence suggests Cuomo knew exactly what was happening and orchestrated a coverup to protect his political future and lucrative book deal, all while grieving families couldn’t even properly bury their loved ones.

The Blame Game Begins

Predictably, the Democratic machine is already circling the wagons, crying “politics” instead of addressing the actual allegations. Governor Kathy Hochul asked, “When will Pam Bondi stop politicizing the [DOJ] and just do their jobs?” Meanwhile, Democratic Congressman Ritchie Torres claimed “Trump is weaponizing the [DOJ] against Cuomo in the final weeks of the mayor’s race.” Funny how investigating potential perjury and a coverup of thousands of deaths is now considered “politicizing” the DOJ. I seem to remember Democrats having a very different standard when they controlled the department.

“I’ve always gotten along with him,” Trump said about Cuomo, which hardly sounds like the words of someone launching a political vendetta.

The most infuriating part is how Cuomo tried to blame President Trump and federal guidelines for his nursing home fiasco. But Representative Elise Stefanik pointed out that CDC guidance actually recommended considering the “ability of the accepting facility to meet the recommended infection control practices” and the “ability to place residents in a designated COVID-19 care unit that is equipped with the resources and personal protective equipment to safely prevent the spread of infections.” Cuomo ignored these crucial qualifications when he forced unprepared nursing homes to take COVID patients.

Justice Delayed, But Maybe Not Denied

For the thousands of families who lost loved ones in New York nursing homes, this investigation is long overdue. The House Oversight Committee originally referred the matter to Biden’s DOJ, which predictably sat on it. Only after Committee Chair James Comer made a new request to the Trump administration did the wheels of justice finally begin turning. If found guilty of perjury, Cuomo could face up to five years in federal prison – though I won’t hold my breath waiting for that perp walk.

The truth is, this investigation isn’t about politics – it’s about holding powerful officials accountable when they abuse their authority and then lie about it. If Cuomo really has nothing to hide, he should welcome the chance to clear his name. Instead, his team is attacking the messenger rather than addressing the message. That tells you everything you need to know about the substance of these allegations. The families of 15,000 dead New Yorkers deserve answers, not political spin.
