Four suspects tied to the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua were arrested after a violent $75,000 jewelry heist in Northwest Dallas. The incident took place on September 21 when the suspects attacked a woman in her garage, forced her into her home and stole her jewelry.
The suspects, identified as Yean Brayhan Torralba, 20, Alberto Martinez Silva, 34, Manuel Hernandez-Hernandez, 28, and Wilmer Colmenares Gonzalez, 27, were located through a combination of fingerprint evidence and surveillance footage. Gonzalez managed to barricade himself inside a residence, leading to an eight-hour standoff before he was apprehended.
The Tren de Aragua gang, notorious for its violent operations in Venezuela, has reportedly infiltrated the United States amid the influx of migrants crossing the southern border. The gang has been linked to serious criminal activities such as human trafficking and drug smuggling.
Some gang members have reportedly exploited migrant shelters in cities like New York, using them as bases for illegal activities including robbery. This latest arrest in Texas has raised concerns about the gang’s growing influence in the U.S. and its involvement in violent crimes across the country.
