USAID Name Erased From Building As Leftist Spending Is Exposed

The name of the United States Agency for International Development has been removed from its headquarters in Washington, marking another step in the Trump administration’s move to shut down the agency. The removal comes after an audit exposed how USAID spent billions supporting leftist media control, activist groups, and global ideological projects.

Among the most significant revelations was USAID’s deep involvement in Ukraine’s media. Reports confirm that nine out of ten media outlets in Ukraine relied on foreign donations, with USAID acting as their primary backer. With Trump’s administration freezing the agency’s funds, these media outlets are now left scrambling to secure new sources of financing.

USAID also directed massive amounts of taxpayer money toward controversial social programs abroad. Millions were funneled into LGBT lobbying in Serbia and a transgender opera in Colombia. Additional funding went toward a Sesame Street program in Iraq, a transgender comic book in Peru, and media training focused on gender ideology in Sri Lanka.

The agency’s reach also extended into political activism at home. USAID granted $24.7 million to the Soros-backed Tides Center, which later distributed over $12.6 million to Black Lives Matter-affiliated groups. These funds were provided at the height of the 2020 protests, which resulted in widespread destruction across American cities.

USAID’s financial activities in Europe have also sparked concerns. A German lawmaker in the European Parliament has called for an investigation into whether the agency played a role in shaping elections across multiple EU member states. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has since vowed to reveal all U.S. funding directed at media and activist groups within his country.

New scrutiny has also linked USAID to President Donald Trump’s first impeachment. A CIA whistleblower who played a key role in the impeachment process cited sources that received USAID and State Department funding.

Now, with the agency’s name erased from its headquarters, USAID’s role in global influence operations is facing a major reckoning.
