President Donald Trump has announced the creation of a federal task force to eliminate anti-Christian discrimination within the government, naming Attorney General Pam Bondi as its leader. The initiative, unveiled at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, is part of a broader push to restore religious freedom.
The executive order mandates a review of policies at the Department of Justice, the FBI, and the IRS, agencies that have been accused of targeting Christians under previous administrations. Trump emphasized that his administration would put an end to government overreach that has unfairly penalized religious Americans.
Trump highlighted past cases where Christian organizations and individuals were singled out, pointing to restrictions on churches during the pandemic and federal monitoring of conservative religious groups. He pledged to protect religious freedom in workplaces, schools, and public spaces.
In addition to the task force, Trump announced the formation of a commission on religious liberty, designed to provide long-term solutions for defending faith-based groups. His administration also launched the White House Faith Office, which will serve as a bridge between the government and religious organizations.
The initiative has been met with strong support from conservative legal advocates. Kelly Shackelford of First Liberty Institute praised the move, stating, “We are ready to stand with President Trump to ensure that the religious liberty of every American is safe and secure.”
The administration continues to roll back policies that have limited Christian organizations, ensuring that religious Americans are treated fairly and protected from government interference.
