Trump Beats Out Taylor Swift In New Favorability Poll Following Harris Endorsement

New polling data from Siena College and The New York Times reveals that President Donald Trump holds a favorability advantage over pro-abortion pop star Taylor Swift, despite Swift’s endorsement of Kamala Harris. According to the poll, 47% of voters view Trump favorably, compared to 44% for Swift.

Swift, who publicly supported Harris after the September 10 debate, enjoys solid favorability among Democrats, with 70% viewing her positively. However, her popularity drops significantly among independents and Republicans. Just 41% of independents have a favorable opinion of Swift, and among Republicans, only 23% view her positively, with a large 60% holding an unfavorable view.

Trump’s favorability, though divisive, remains stronger overall, particularly within the Republican Party. While Swift’s endorsement was heavily promoted by the Harris campaign, it has failed to move the needle in national polls. The race between Trump and Harris remains tight, with little movement in key battleground states.

The data also shows that Swift’s endorsement has had minimal impact on young voters, a demographic where Harris is performing worse than Joe Biden did in September 2020. Despite Swift’s significant cultural influence, her political endorsement appears to have had little effect on reshaping the 2024 race.

As Election Day approaches, the poll underscores that celebrity endorsements may not carry the political weight needed to change voter behavior, especially when it comes to a figure as polarizing as Donald Trump.
