Tom Homan Fires Back At Rep. Crockett’s Criticism

Tom Homan, President-elect Donald Trump’s border czar, has challenged claims questioning his immigration expertise. Homan, who previously served as acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), appeared on Newsmax to address remarks made by Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) during an MSNBC segment.

“Well, look, I forgot more about this issue than she’ll ever know,” Homan said. “For God’s sake, I’ve been doing it for 34 years.” He highlighted his extensive experience in immigration enforcement and claimed the American public supports stronger border measures.

Crockett had criticized Homan’s approach to immigration policy, referencing family separations under the Trump administration. Homan pushed back, arguing that Americans have been harmed by lax immigration enforcement.

Homan also defended family detention policies, framing them as a humane alternative to the family separations critics often highlight. “When I talk about family separation, what about angel moms and dads who buried their children?” he said.

Crockett’s criticism came as Trump’s immigration policies remain a divisive topic in Congress. Homan defended his commitment to implementing Trump’s border agenda.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported over 7.4 million migrant encounters since 2021, a record-setting number that Homan argues reflects the urgency of addressing the border crisis.
