Ultra-progressive billionaire George Soros has funneled $125 million into leftist Democracy PAC that supports radical Democratic candidates. Democracy PAC is a super-PAC formed in 2019 and spent more than $80 million supporting Democratic candidates during the 2020 election cycle.
According to Politico, Soros describes the money as a “long-term investment” to influence America’s midterm elections this year and beyond.
Soros said the $125 million is a “long-term investment” to be utilized for the 2022 midterms and beyond. The “investment” is said to strengthen the “infrastructure of American democracy.”
As part of the “investment,” George Soros’s son Alexander will serve as President of Democracy PAC. Alexander Soros said that the events of the last year, and especially the “January 6th insurrection” and other efforts to discredit the electoral process, have revealed the “magnitude of the threat to our democracy.” He said that Democracy PAC is positioned to address a “generational threat” that cannot be handled in only one or two election cycles.
In addition to Democratic candidates, Democracy PAC donated to abortion industry advocates Planned Parenthood and NARAL during the 2020 election season. The two largest recipients of Democracy PAC donations were the Senate Majority PAC, receiving $7 million, and Priorities USA Action, receiving $5 million.
Democracy PAC’s spending will be disclosed in a public posting on Monday.
Reacting to the massive check written by Soros, Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) said that if Soros is running ads, we can assume the candidate supports the “Soros crime policies causing the murder wave.”
Forbes reports that Soros has a net worth of $8.6 billion. Last July, he made a $1 million donation to a PAC that funds and supports the “defund the police” movement. He also spent $1 million on the “Stop the Republican Recall of Governor Newsom” for last year’s California recall election in which Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom retained his position.
Since 2015, 24 district attorneys around the nation have been elected with financial support from PAC committees that Soros funds. The Capital Research Center reported that the district attorneys received more than $29 million in campaign money from Soros.
