Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX), who served as White House physician for both Barack Obama and Donald Trump, disclosed that his nephew was injured in the assassination attempt on Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Jackson’s nephew sustained a graze wound on his neck from the shooter’s bullet.
Jackson recounted the event, stating, “My nephew heard shots ringing out and realized he had blood on his neck. He was treated in the medical tent. Please join my family in praying for all who were injured and the life lost.”
Jackson elaborated on the incident in an interview with Sean Hannity: “They heard the shots, and everyone dropped to the ground. My nephew was grazed in the neck and was bleeding. My sister-in-law encouraged him to go to the first aid tent.”
The assassination attempt was carried out by Thomas Matthew Crooks, who was positioned on a rooftop about 200-300 feet from the rally. Crooks managed to fire multiple shots, one of which grazed Trump’s ear, narrowly missing a fatal injury.
Jackson commented on Trump’s wound: “That is as close as it gets to dying. If he (Trump) would have turned his head, the bullet would have crossed his brain.”
Despite the attack, Trump plans to proceed with the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. The FBI is leading the investigation and has requested public assistance in gathering information. Jackson expressed confidence in Trump’s Secret Service detail but questioned the leadership’s competency.
