Musk Warms Kamala Harris Win Could Make US ‘Worse Than California’

Elon Musk, the outspoken CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, is raising alarms about the future of the U.S. should Vice President Kamala Harris win the presidency. In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Musk warned that Harris’ policies would plunge the nation into a state worse than California, a state he believes is already struggling under Democratic leadership.

Musk has been a long-time critic of California’s regulatory environment and litigation culture, which he blames for stifling innovation and driving businesses out of the state. “If the machine behind the Kamala puppet wins this election, the whole country will be far worse than California is today,” Musk said, emphasizing that overregulation and rampant lawsuits are already harming California’s economy.

Musk further argued that the current legal and political environment in California is controlled by unions and trial lawyers, who wield significant influence over the Democratic Party. He explained that these groups are responsible for electing officials who, in turn, pass laws favorable to their interests, creating a “nightmarish circle” that benefits the elite while harming ordinary citizens and businesses.

Musk warned that these same interests are looking to expand their influence on a national scale. He criticized Democrats for pushing policies such as Supreme Court packing, mass immigration, and granting statehood to Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico, all of which, he believes, would entrench one-party rule across the country.

This isn’t the first time Musk has taken action in response to California’s political climate. He moved the headquarters of both Tesla and SpaceX to Texas in recent years and recently announced plans to shutter X’s San Francisco office, citing California’s increasingly restrictive policies on business and education.
