Musk Fires Back At Walz Over ‘Nazi Salute’ Claim, Suggests Lawsuit

Elon Musk is weighing legal action against Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz after the Democrat pushed a widely debunked claim that the billionaire performed a Nazi salute. Responding on X, Musk called Walz “creepy” and signaled that he is seriously considering a lawsuit.

Walz made the statement during an appearance on MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show,” where he was asked about political tensions following President Donald Trump’s inauguration. During the discussion, he referenced an unfounded conspiracy that Musk made a Nazi-style gesture, declaring, “Of course he did.”

Conservative commentator Robby Starbuck later shared a clip of the exchange on X and encouraged Musk to sue. The billionaire responded, “I think I will.” He also suggested that Maddow and MSNBC could be added to a potential lawsuit after she speculated about Musk’s gesture, calling it a “Roman salute.”

The claim originated from a moment during Trump’s inauguration rally when Musk briefly tapped his chest before extending his arm. Left-wing media figures quickly latched onto the image, but Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dismissed the accusations as false. Despite this, Walz repeated the claim on national television.

Musk, who contributed $277 million to support Republican candidates and Trump’s campaign in 2024, has become a frequent target of Democratic politicians. Walz, who ran as Kamala Harris’ vice presidential pick in the election, has continued attacking Trump and his allies after his failed bid for office.

Neither Walz nor MSNBC have issued a response to Musk’s legal threat. Meanwhile, Musk remains the world’s richest man, with a net worth of $428 billion, according to Bloomberg.
