Minneapolis Police Arrest 6 Children After Armed Robberies And Highway Crashes

Six children between the ages of 11 and 14 were arrested in Minneapolis on Tuesday after a series of armed robberies and two crashes on Interstate 94. Police responded to multiple reports of robberies and reckless driving, which led to the apprehension of the juveniles after a police chase.

The first robbery occurred at 11:30 a.m. on 41st Avenue South, followed by a second robbery on Bloomington Avenue. Police pursued one of the vehicles involved, resulting in a crash on I-94. Four of the suspects attempted to flee but were apprehended.

A third robbery later took place near Pleasant Avenue, and police located a second stolen vehicle that had crashed. Two more suspects were arrested after fleeing on foot.

Police say shots were fired during the second robbery, but no one was injured. Authorities from several agencies, including the Minnesota State Patrol, assisted in the arrests.

The six juveniles were taken to hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries and will be booked into the Juvenile Detention Center. While one of the suspects had prior contact with law enforcement, the others had limited or no prior records.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara expressed frustration over the involvement of such young children in criminal activity, calling for immediate action to prevent further incidents.
