Elon Musk’s free speech platform, X, was knocked offline Monday morning in what Musk called a “massive cyberattack.” Users across the world reported being unable to access the site, with outages tracked in major cities on both coasts of the U.S. and in Europe.
The timing of the attack is raising questions. Musk has been making enemies in all the right places, working with President Donald Trump to dismantle government overreach, uncover corruption at USAID, and hold intelligence agencies accountable. His push to audit the Pentagon and even Fort Knox has drawn sharp resistance from those who want their secrets to remain buried.
At the same time, Musk has been under fire from radical activists, globalists, and entrenched bureaucrats. Tesla showrooms have been vandalized, his reputation smeared by leftist media, and his stock has been pummeled by organized boycotts. Now, his social media platform — the last major outlet for free speech — has gone dark in a suspiciously well-coordinated attack.
Musk has suggested that a state actor could be involved, noting that the attack required significant resources. Given the Western intelligence community’s obsession with controlling online discourse, the possibility that this was an attempt to silence X cannot be ignored.
This attack follows months of escalating hostility toward Musk. The Biden-era intelligence community already waged a war against free speech, and now, with Musk refusing to comply with censorship demands, the backlash appears to be growing.
Whether X’s outage was a simple technical failure or a deliberate attempt to suppress free speech, one thing is clear — Musk is a target, and his enemies are only getting bolder.
