Elon Musk Faces Backlash Over Push For Cheaper Foreign Labor

Elon Musk’s endorsement of H-1B visas has led to fierce criticism from MAGA allies, who warn the policy could devastate middle-class wages. Critics accuse Musk of advocating for looser restrictions to benefit his businesses, which could hire foreign workers at lower costs.

Musk defended the visa program on social media, claiming it attracts “critical people” needed for U.S. innovation. However, his sharp rhetoric—telling one critic to “F— YOURSELF in the face”—has only intensified the backlash.

Steve Bannon labeled H-1B visas a “scam” on his War Room podcast, accusing Musk of driving down wages for American workers. “This is predatory capitalism at its worst,” Bannon said, arguing that the program benefits globalist elites at the expense of U.S. labor.

Critics allege Musk’s companies, including Tesla, stand to profit by hiring cheaper foreign tech workers. This practice, they warn, could force American workers to accept lower wages and fewer benefits in a “race to the bottom.”

Laura Loomer voiced similar concerns, urging the GOP to shield President Donald Trump’s agenda from the influence of tech billionaires. Loomer called Musk’s stance a threat to the nationalist priorities of Trump’s base.

Musk’s business ties to countries like China, where labor is less expensive, have also come under scrutiny. Critics claim these interests drive his push for policies that hurt American workers.
