Congressman Blasts Duplicate Absentee Ballots In Wisconsin Missing Barcodes

Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-WI) has raised concerns over the integrity of absentee voting after discovering that more than 2,000 duplicate ballots sent out in Madison, Wisconsin, lacked the required barcodes. The Madison Clerk’s Office had initially claimed that the duplicate ballots had barcodes and couldn’t be submitted, but Tiffany’s office found that many ballots were missing the barcodes entirely.

In response to the discovery, Tiffany called for a full investigation, writing a letter to the city clerk of Madison, Maribeth Witzel-Behl. In his letter, Tiffany demanded answers about how the error occurred, how many voters were affected, and whether the issue had been reported to law enforcement.

Tiffany shared a photo of a ballot missing a barcode on social media, further questioning the accuracy of the Clerk’s Office’s earlier statements. The ballots were sent to about 10 wards, impacting a large number of voters.

Tiffany’s concerns are part of a larger debate over the security of absentee ballots, which has been a hot topic among Republicans in recent years. Many fear that errors like this could lead to widespread voter fraud, undermining confidence in the election process.

As the 2024 election approaches, Tiffany is calling for those responsible to be held accountable. He warned that incidents like this can’t simply be “swept under the rug.”

This revelation comes at a time when election integrity remains a focal point for many Americans, and calls for reform to absentee voting practices are growing louder.
