Biden’s New Press Secretary Is Off to a Rough Start

Since the Biden administration came into the White House, it’s struggled with its messaging.

The president claims to want to end division and hatred in the country; yet, this doesn’t stop him from slandering members of the GOP as racists, extremists, and segregationists.

On high gas prices, multiple White House officials have been encouraging Americans to purchase and drive electric vehicles.

This comes despite the fact that most people across the country don’t have a spare $50,000+ laying around to spend money on a new mode of transportation.

This week marked the beginning of new White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. To say things have gotten off to a rocky start would be an understatement.

A Disaster in Slow Motion
On Monday, Jean-Pierre was questioned by Fox News host Peter Doocey about the recent link Biden drew between increasing taxes on big businesses and reducing consumer prices.

When Doocey asked why the White House believes higher taxes in this regard will limit consumer costs, the new press secretary gave an answer that was completely removed from the question.

According to Jean-Pierre, the White House wants well-off people and supporters of climate change to also favor a tax code that is “fair.”

The press secretary did not explain how a so-called “fair” tax code with higher rates will lower the prices Americans are paying for gas, food, and other necessities.

As Jean-Pierre was preparing to fill the shoes of now-former press secretary Jen Psaki, the White House repeatedly sang her praises. The accolades are not shared throughout most of the country, though.

Brutal Public Feedback
The exchange between Doocey and Jean-Pierre quickly made the rounds on Twitter and other social media sites. Americans didn’t hesitate to make their candid thoughts known.

One common viewpoint is that Jean-Pierre was responding to questions in the way that Biden tends to read teleprompters. Other social media users said the new press secretary was clearly not up for the job.

Americans also didn’t appreciate Jean-Pierre literally reading from a notebook when trying to give answers to questions from reporters. This is something that even Psaki didn’t do during her time as the press secretary.

Time will tell what Jean-Pierre’s future press conferences look like. However, if the recent ones are any indication, Americans shouldn’t have very high hopes.

At the end of the day, any person who works as Biden’s press secretary is tasked with making him look good. More often than not, this demands dodging questions or completely gaslighting the American public.
